We’re landing at Heraklion Airport soon and need to find a way to reach our hotel in Rethymnon. Does anyone know if it's better to just grab a taxi at the terminal or should I book a private car in advance to make sure there’s enough room for four adults and all our heavy suitcases?

Is there a simple way to choose a specific vehicle type, like a comfortable minivan, and be certain the driver will be waiting for us right at the arrivals with a sign? Have you already made a list of places you would like to visit in Rethymnon? Since our plane was arriving in the morning, we decided to visit some places on the way from Heraklion airport to Rethymnon right after the flight, which was not very long. We specially booked a transfer in advance on the GetTransfer website and even chose the class of the car. The driver immediately met us with a nameplate, helped us with our luggage and took us to the car, we decided that we wanted to visit Arkadi Monastery and Fortezza Castle, which were just on the way to our hotel. I like to start my travels like this, and not lie down all day after the flight.
